Get in, sit down, shut up & hold on!

That was on the back windshield of the truck I was driving behind on the way to work today.  I want to know where he got that sticker.  Absolutely awesome.

Germany is getting closer, but feels so far away.  I got word that all the necessary documents were submitted to the appropriate authorities there and now all I can do is wait.  LAME!  My departure date is anyone's guess at this point.

Snowmageddon

I need to say that I love snow.  Without it, winter is just fuckin cold.  So I'm glad that we got our fair share this year.  I hoping to get on the slopes within the next week or two while the snow is still around.

I find it interesting that so many people that go into panic mode when we get more than 5 or 6 inches.  Everyone is racing to buy shovels and salt.  Why is it that so many people wait til the last minute to buy shovels?  My parents have had the same 3 shovels for the last 15 years (no lie, I remember using the shovel).  Others feel like they need to stock up on food and go into hibernation.  Seriously?  Snow isn't some kind of plague that you need to seal yourself off from.  Either way, people hugely overreact when we get snow.  Act like you live in the northeast.  This isn't LA, we get snow, lots of it.

I'm loving all the snow just as much as the next guy, but I was none too happy when my computer decided to crap out on me during my day off from work.  You picked a hell of a day computer!  Just when I needed you for entertainment you up and quit on me!  There's been some kind of virus on laptop for a long time now.  It only recently started to get a lot worse.  I ran several virus scans and anti-spyware/adware programs, but this cockroach was persistent.  The scans picked up a lot of things and essentially showed that my computer was clean.  I determined otherwise when my browser still redirected me whenever I clicked a link from a google search.  No good.  Anyhow, I went to turn my computer on on Wednesday and was greeted with the infamous blue screen of death.  Damn, restart and hope it goes away.  Fuck, blue screen again.  Try again, in safe mode this time.  Nope, still fucked.

So now I'm looking at getting a new hard drive and running the old one as a slave to see if I can recover the music and photos that are on there.  I REALLY don't want to lose that stuff.  I'm pretty confident that I can recover it.  That means buying a new hard drive first.  It's always about money.  Damn you money.  My company has some deal with dell though.  Since my computer is a dell, that works out nicely.  So I might be able to get a decent discount.  :)

Until then I'm pretty much screwed for internet access.  I can only get on during work, when I really shouldn't be messing around aways.  Shit the boss is coming, ALT-TAB!!!!!!
