Good Anesthesia

So I started making hamburger helper for dinner tonight when I realized that I didn't have any milk, or butter.  If you've made the amazing slop that is hamburger helper, then you know that you need milk, or butter.  I had already started cooking the ground turkey (yeah I said turkey) when I realized my dilemma, so I couldn't just go out and get milk.  I am in a tight situation here.  Desperate times call for desperate measures.  So I reached for the vanilla creamer.  I knew it could be weird, but I couldn't just use water alone.  It was weird.  Still enjoyable though.  I'm just glad that I was the only one eating it so I didn't have to justify my executive decision.

On a different note,  Wawa apple dippers do not come with nearly enough peanut butter.  The peanut butter is gone before I get halfway through the apples!  You think I'd learn from this discovery, but I keep on buying them.  Maybe I'll keep a jar of peanut butter at my desk to make up for it.

Getting my wisdom teeth pulled tomorrow.  I hope they give me some good anesthesia.

Mega What?

I've spent the last two weeks working on this mega lab report and presentation for the project I've been working on.  I must have typed the word "analysis" at least 50 times and I have to concentrate for each one.  Usually "anal" flows right from the fingertips but it takes a half second for them to react to the second part.  Beats me.  I just know it's getting annoying every time this word slows me down.

A new Wawa opened up this week on my way to work.  Gas station and all.  I got gas there on Monday after putting the gas light to the test.  I'm pretty excited because it's much bigger than the mini-wawa it replaced just a half mile up the road.  Also it means a Wawa gas station semi-close to home.  That means free compressed air!  Yeah I know what you're thinking.  "So what?  Who cares about that?"  You would if you had a slow leak in your left rear tire.  The leak isn't bad enough to really warrant replacing the tire/rim so I put up with it.  So free air at the gas station saves me quarters for wash.

Watch this.  It makes me laugh every time I see the monkey.

Map My Send

I guess it's been a while since I've put my thoughts down last.  I could try to sell you on trying to 'save up some good stories' but no one would buy it.

Anyway, I've been pretty intrigued with http://www.mapmyrun.com/ lately.  It is obviously based on a runner's log since it allows you to create and save workouts in addition to the standard feature of creating and saving routes that you've run on the roads (or trails if you're really good at estimating).  Either way, I have found it to be one of the better runner's logs that I've used.  I used nike.com's running log for approximately 3 years.  Not a bad tool to be honest.  My only complaint is that it could be slow at times.  Unlike nike.com, mapmyrun allows you to log in all kinds of sports and exercise activities.  I like that it automatically calculates your running pace, if applicable, as well as the amount of calories you burned (if you put some personal data in upfront like height, weight, age, sex, etc).  Climbing happens to be one of those activities, so I'm pretty happy about that.  The other bit I like is that it calculates all your totals to date, including your green stats.  Green stats are how much gas you saved from traveling under your own power, how much money you saved, and the carbon offset you achieved in lbs of CO2.  Very cool site and very easy to use.

On the topic of exercise, all this nice weather has got me pretty excited to run and climb outside.  I got some good miles in last week and was able to climb at Birdsboro with my best friend on Saturday.  We started off with a few light climbs to get warmed up.  Then I started eying this 5.11b on the lower slab wall.  It took some work to figure out the moves and a whole lot of cojones to do them.  It was fun though.  I'm really glad that I could push myself, with some awesome encouragement, to get through it.  I tried for the send a little later.  It was definitely smoother but I got tangled up on a few moves.  I was unhappy about not getting the send but still really glad to discover that it's within reach.  Next time.  :-)

I found $5 in the laundry this weekend.  Yup.
